• Respiratory tract infections: Including pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, and tonsillitis/pharyngitis (strep throat).
• Ear infections (otitis media), especially in children.
• Urinary tract infections (UTIs).
• Skin and soft tissue infections: Such as cellulitis and impetigo.
• Dental infections and abscesses.
• H. pylori infection: Used in combination with other medications (like lansoprazole and clarithromycin) to treat stomach ulcers caused by this bacteria.
• Lyme disease (early stage).
• Prevention of bacterial endocarditis in high-risk patients undergoing certain procedures.
